Message from the Executive Chairman:
 

Let's face it, these are tough times. The metal rolling industry is in serious downturn; some roll companies are at risk of failing. Fear of continuous decline permeates the industry as negative news accumulates and it can be difficult to keep on going – but this is when making the tough decisions and moves matter the most.

You might be wondering is BRC still "Moving Ahead"? What can our worldwide customers expect of BRC at this time of crisis?

I would like to invite you to join me in exploring our exciting and newly redesigned website to seek out the answers. I would especially like to point out the effective innovations and advanced developments that make BRC unique in the industry:

  • Extending our already extensive services and support for our customers with four strategically located Regional Offices and added personnel
  • Improving our high quality rolls to provide even better performance to enhance mill efficiency and reduce costs
  • Initiating groundbreaking IT technology on SmartRoll & iRMS to reduced inventories and provide easy roll management to acquire better productivity and achieve further savings
  • Launching the world's first "BRC Roll Institute" dedicated to roll training to increase customer knowledge on roll usage, problems and improvements
  • Introducing a patented eco-friendly steel packaging system that is completely recyclable
  • Inaugurating a new JV foundry dedicated to producing sleeves and breakdown rolls for large section and rail mills

We all face great challenges in the years ahead, but nothing will stop BRC from moving forward. This is an excellent time to further improve our abilities as a leader in the small roll industry.

BRC is ready to deal with the threats of uncertainty this crisis brings and to continue to think boldly and creatively about the possibilities it offers. Self-reflection and continuous improvement of our strengths will make us a better company.

In addition, by asking our valued customers to help us address a difficult economic situation, and then carefully listening and incorporating their concerns and ideas, we will increase our reputation as a company who cares and can be trusted as a partner that is good to work with in the long run.

I believe this crisis will help BRC build an excellent foundation for growth and continue to move ahead when the recession inevitably ends.
