BITE™ is a Cr-Ni-Mo alloyed Pearlitic / Bainitic cast steel, containing free graphite. This microstructure provides excellent bite and resistance to fire-cracking. The graphite also imparts a lubricating quality, which gives good 'release' to the bar and aids in heat dissipation. The consistent hardness penetration makes this grade suitable for all section mills and particularly effective for deep and asymmetric sections, rail, beams, channels and large angles.

The hardness adjustment is obtained during a complex heat treatment process.
For production, we need a range of 5 ShC which needs to be specified in the roll order.

Our technical team can help to determine the most suitable grade, degree of hardness and manufacturing method to meet with individual mill conditions and specifications.
